It does not matter whether we take part in the traffic as a pedestrian or as a car driver, we behave carefully to avoid that we will cause or that we will be suffered from a traffic accident. Nevertheless! In 2001 495,000 persons were injured and 6,977 persons were killed by traffic accidents in Germany. That means, 6 traffic accidents with injuries per 1,000 inhabitants occurred. And at work ... ? In the same time period we had to register 1.1 Mio accidents at work in the German industrial area which had to be reported to the responsible Berufsgenossenschaften, i.e. accidents at work that caused more than 3 calender days off. 811 people were killed by accidents at work. That means we had about 34 accidents at work per 1,000 employees.   Compare the figures! Let us make efforts to decrease the number of traffic accidents and the number of accidents at work.
