The safe handling of hazardous substances in companies is strongly linked to environmental protection issues like: • Protection against environmentally • relevant pollutants • Water protection • Waste management • Transportation of hazardous goods.   Quite often occupational safety, environmental protection and fire safety precautions are identical, depend on each other or support each other. Thus, they should be considered together comprising risk analyses, the identification of technical, organisational and individual protection measures, the assess- ment of the effectiveness of these measures as well as the investigation of accidents, safety related events and unsafe situations.
